Hearing pathologies

Deafness is defined as an increase in hearing thresholds and/or intelligibility thresholds, i.e. difficulties in understanding speech.
The reasons for consultation are either the discomfort felt by the patient, who has to repeat or increase the volume of the television, or the discomfort noticed by those around him.
The diagnostic strategy consists in determining the level of hearing impairment and then proposing a therapeutic solution.
To do this, Dr BERGUIGA performs a complete clinical examination, including a microscopic examination of both ears, known as otoscopy.
Next, a functional hearing test called an audiogram is performed.
The ENT and Cervico-facial Surgery Department at Monaco’s Princess Grace Hospital is equipped with the latest and best technologies for hearing exploration.
At the end of this examination, a solution to your discomfort will be proposed. This may involve an imaging test such as a CT scan, surgery or even a hearing aid.
