Tonsil surgery<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Tonsillectomy is one of the most common ENT procedures performed on both children and adults.
\nIn adults, the main indications are recurrent angina and cryptic, caseous tonsils.
\nAngina is characterized by a variable combination of fever, pharyngeal or “throat” pain and burning sensations on swallowing, often accompanied by swollen lymph nodes, often in the neck.
\nThese symptoms, repeated several times a year, define recurrent tonsillitis and call for a tonsillectomy, an operation to remove the tonsils.
\nTonsillectomy is an outpatient procedure with no external scarring.
\nAt the Princess Grace Hospital, this procedure is performed using a state-of-the-art instrument: the plasma coblation probe.
\nThis radiofrequency probe significantly reduces post-operative pain, and also enables very precise dissection of the tonsils.<\/p>\n
