Thyroid pathology<\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The thyroid can remodel, forming physiological nodules. This is commonly observed with environmental factors, age and genetics too.
\nThe majority of nodules are and will remain benign, often small and inconspicuous.
\nLarger ones can be unsightly or compressive, particularly for breathing or swallowing. These nodules can sometimes be cancerous, and may need to be punctured under ultrasound.
\nWith the aim of providing personalized care for thyroid pathology, the Princess Grace Hospital has set up a multidisciplinary thyroid care team.
\nENT specialists, cervical surgeons and endocrinologists are on hand to welcome you for a consultation.
\nComplicated cases will be discussed at a bi-monthly meeting with the participation of radiologists and anatomopathologists specializing in thyroid.
\nIt’s worth noting that the Princess Grace Hospital recently acquired a thermocision instrument, enabling it to offer thyroid ablations via a minimal approach, reducing operating time and the risk of haematoma. This instrument complements the vocal cord monitoring that has been present in the operating theatre for many years.
\nThese innovative techniques also make it possible to offer outpatient treatment in certain cases.<\/p>\n

Consultation:<\/strong> During the consultation, Dr BERGUIGA will examine you and explain the procedure, which will be performed under general anesthesia.<\/p>\n

Post-op:<\/strong> The scar is closed with surgical glue without external stitches, allowing you to shower normally the day after the operation. The scar is protected by this glue.
